Pools and Water Parks

It’s finally nice outside to play! Grab the kids and gear and head out to these parks and pool locations for some fun!

Joplin:

Cunningham Park –
Cunningham Park has been restored beautifully since the tornado that destroyed it. It was one of the many losses that our community has put time and effort into for the rebuild. We love the butterfly garden and remembrance areas that were put up, and pond. The park features two play areas that are a lot of fun, and ample room to just run and explore. The pool offers a children’s play feature, zero depth entry, splash pad and water slides.

A new addition across from the park is Mercy Park, which is another tribute to our community. It features a lovely trail that has wonderful ponds and water sprays, and a gazebo up high like a look out tower.  It’s easy to get lost in this area of tranquillity.

Cunningham Family Aquatic Center offers a children’s play feature, zero depth entry, splash pad and two large water slides.
A full concession stand as well as a large shelter connected to the pool that makes this a great place for private parties.

You can find these parks at: W 26TH & S. Maiden Ln

Ewert Park –

McClelland Park –
This park tucked away near Shoal Creek and Inspiration Point can make a fun day of exploring. If you are big into Disc Golf there is a decent course located here, as well. There is a fun play structure and a large field to play games, practice throwing a ball, and flying kites – no tree’s are in the way! This park is surrounded by nature, no big city lights or streets, and is a sweet little spot outside of town.

You can visit the park here: 4568 McClelland Park Rd

Schifferdecker Park –
This park is located right next to the Joplin Mineral Museum, and the Joplin Parks Department where our area youth are able to participate in basketball, tennis, soccer, and football. You will also find Will’s Miracle Field that has a special needs play ground that is wheel chair friendly! Schifferdecker has a fun play structure, a skate park, and the Joplin Aquatic Center is the biggest pool we have in town. This park was recently redone with added two water slides, rock wall, lazy river and more. It’s a really fun spot to spend the day!

Schifferdecker Park is located at: 606 South Schifferdecker Ave

Parr Hill Park –
Parr Hill has been updated with three play structures, a gated dog park, and splash pad. This park is just a few streets from the new Joplin library so you can easily make a day of fun!
