I love, love, love our local coffee shops. You walk in and the smells of those nutty beans that hit you in the face, the art decor and the atmosphere, and the special getaways we can sneak to with our spouse or children. Something about a cup of Joe just makes a sweet time with our friends and family. Below you will find a list of locally owned coffee shops, and local roasters – YES!

Joplin Greenhouse and Coffee Shop
We love to explore this coffee shop and greenhouse, and it makes such a great little outing. They have a fun little treat called Puffles, which is kind of like a waffle but so much better! It comes out warm with ice cream and goodies piled high – they are totally worth it. Their coffee comes from locally owned roasters, Small Cottage Roasters and The bearded lady – both know their craft well. Seating is provided inside, and outside with the lovely greenhouse.
Flowers, succulents, and pumpkins in the fall while sipping your coffee… it’s superb.

Chase Coffee Company
Located in Carl Junction, MO, is a roastery with six different kinds of coffee beans. You can order online and choose from Brazil to Guatemala beans with tastes like chocolate, lemon, caramel, and cherry. Who knew that coffee beans had such an array of flavors and boldness?! You can head over to their website and contact them to see the roastery in person – it would be interesting to see how they roast their beans!

Crazy Llama Coffee
Coffee and llamas? Yes, please! Come check out this fun coffee shop with their unique llama art inside, or if in a bit of a hurry, use the drive thru. I am excited to see more drive thru options, as well as a coffee shop in Webb City again. Their menu has an array of drinks, including non-coffee drinks like tea, and hot chocolate.

Joplin Ave Coffee
This coffee shop is such a cozy and eccentric spot located in downtown in Joplin. I love grabbing a drink, and heading out to the shops on Main Street, or staying put and enjoy the environment and taking time for myself. We also grab drinks to go after hitting up Third Thursday. A few we enjoy are Van Gogh, Cinnamon Bunn and a Vanilla Chai Tea Latte – So good!

Zinc Coffee
This modern coffee shop is a new hip spot in Joplin. Located on Main Street this coffee shop, with drive thru, looks like it has already become a local favorite. The crisp white accents and natural woods, and huge windows to bring in natural light this is becoming a little utopia right on downtown.

The Clay Cup – A Coffee Pottery

A unique twist at the Clay Cup – all of their coffee cups are made in house and they are beautiful! In the studio there is seating where you can watch these talented artists create cups and other pottery items.

You can also sign up for pottery classes that are offered to an array of ages. This is a stop you need to make in Neosho and take in the full experience.

Caroline’s
Grab a warm cup of coffee with ice cream, or sweet treat at Caroline’s. This spot is perfect for the family as they have something for everyone. Gourmet candy and fudge, an array of ice cream, and coffee. Across the hall is Local Color Art Gallery which has an amazing collection of art from local artists. Caroline’s offers a vintage charm in such an amazing building. The restoration of the Gryphon building is such a site to see after so many years of neglect.

Mother Road Coffee
This is one location we need to hit after reading all of their reviews. Their coffee is spot on! Located on the Carthage Square this shop is in the perfect spot. Could you imagine getting a White Chocolate Mocha, and shopping the antique shops? This is screaming Gilmore Girls, and I need to plan my day Rory style!

Signet Coffee
This urban like coffee shop in Pittsburg has fresh coffee on the spot with their in house roaster. They also provide lunch, and on the go food items like oatmeal and scones. This shop also provides a few gluten free syrup options as well like vanilla, and hazelnut.

Root Coffeehouse
Root Coffeehouse is a sweet shop with a wonderful gift area. They also have crepes, matcha, and espresso drinks. If you head into Pittsburg any time soon be sure to check out this location.

MoJoe’s Coffee
MoJoe’s is such a cute little coffee shop with a bakery and tea shop right next door. MoJoe’s also provides lunch items like panini’s and salads.

Cottage Small Coffee Roasters
I had the chance to try this coffee at the Webb City Farmers Market, and it’s so good! I love my creamer, and I hardly had any, and it was so easy to drink. I also believe the way they brew their coffee and roast their beans plays a huge role in that. You are able to buy their products online, or when they are at a local farmers market or event selling their products. Worth every penny!

STEAM Coffee Roasting Co.
Located in Joplin is this roasting company with products to buy online. You can try this coffee at Bookhouse Cinema and The Pie Safe – coffee, movies, pie… sounds like a pretty good evening and supporting local businesses in the Joplin area.

Beaten Path Coffee Co & Gallery
A new coffee shop located in Downtown Joplin has been creating a buzz. Here you can grab a nitro cold brew, smoothies, or just a warm cup of coffee. You’ll also see custom wood workings from the shop owner, and photography that is up for sale. The talent and cool atmosphere will keep you coming back to this coffee shop.

Nomad Brew
Come to this little drive thru coffee shop that’s set up near the Harp’s parking lot in Carl Junction. Using local beans from Chase Coffee Company, you’ll find favorites from lavender vanilla, to iced caramel macchiato’s bringing you back. Also, don’t forget to grab your punch card!

Bearded Lady Roasters
Another coffee shop located at Downtown Joplin, with a twist. Bearded Lady doesn’t shy from flavors, and it’s always fun to see what they come up with. I recently enjoyed The Goblet of Fire when the Wizard Run event was being hosted. Keep checking their Facebook page for updated fun drinks!
