Rangeline Golf Course in Joplin see’s a lot of traffic in the spring, summer, and fall months. Families keep coming back for the budget friendly Mini Golf. There are also batting cages for those that would rather work on their skills for baseball season.

Roller City of Joplin has great events for this summer, and now include Kids Skate Free.

Kids of all ages love exploring Southeast Kansas Nature Center, and I suspect even the adults do as well. They have an array of wildlife to look at, and hold some great events to keep the kids busy. The nature center is located at Schermerhorn Park where you can swim, fish, and grill. The nature center is opened Tuesday – Sunday, so you can easily make a day of fun with your family.

You may remember the old Anderson’s Ice Cream when it was located on Main Street, and operated by Raymond Anderson. We are so glad to announce that this is the same genuine ice cream that we all remember and love. They also have train tickets available for the children to ride on a small circle train track! Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt is a great alternative to your typical ice cream locations. You can custom build your cup however you choose, and the toppings are always fresh. Neosho Big Spring Park is a beautiful park with a huge children’s wading pool, playground, and gardens. You can also feed the ducks and fish, during the warmer months, so don’t forget your quaters!

The Drive-In is a go to summer spot in the Carthage area. For the price of one, you get two great movies! They have consessions avaliable for purchase, or you can bring your own within the guidelines. The Drive-In is opened every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the summer months. The first movie starts at 8:50pm, but arrive early to get a spot. 66 Drive-In is located at 17231 Old 66 Blvd., Carthage, Missouri.

Lamar Drive-In (Barco Drive-In) is another great go to summer spot. Like Carthage, for the price of one, you also get two great movies! The Drive-In is opened every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in the summer months. The Boxoffice opens at 8pm and the movie starts about 8:45pm. Route 66 Movie Theater is an affordable movie theater located in Webb City. They are near many resturants and parks, so you can make a wonderful family day. This is a wonderful addition to summer vacation in Joplin! Summer Movie Express will start in June, with The Iron Giant and Curious George. The movies will only be $1.00, and you can buy snacks at the consession stand. They will run the $1.00 movies every Tuesday, and Wednesday morning. Regal Northstar Stadium is located at 201 N.
