Christmas Lights Around the Area – Joplin’s Local Family Fun

Christmas lights in the Joplin area are plentiful with fun and excitement for children and adults alike. We love the drive-thru light display in Carthage, and Mt. Moriah always catches our eyes {and ears!} as we watch the lights dance to the beat of the music. Taking a stroll down Main street in Joplin and looking into the windows is always sets us up in the Christmas mood, as well.


Lights and Window Displays in Joplin
Come out to Downtown Joplin and watch the unveiling of the Joplin City Hall Windows. Your children will shout with excitement as they see the displays. Once you have enjoyed all to be seen, take a stroll to Spiva Park, for the Spiva Tree Lighting at 6:30pm

Trail of Lights in Branson
The Trail of Lights in Branson, Missouri is a drive-thru animation display that will carry you into the very heart of Christmas. The Trail winds its way through the historic 160-acre Shepherd of the Hills Homestead, and will take you down the famous “Trail that Nobody Knows How Old” into a holiday wonderland.

Date/Times: November 1st – December 31st. Dusk until after the shows

Way of Salvation Lights Tour in Carthage
The Way of Salvation Lights Tour is a family tradition for many in the 4-State area. Come out and drive through the amazing story of Jesus, and tune your radio to go along with it. Your family will fall in love with this light display, year after year.

Date/Times: The tour will start Thursday, November, 22nd
Location: This is located at Congreation of The Mother, 1900 Grand Ave, Carthage, MO

Ozark Valley Christmas Tree Farm Southwest City, MO
Along with the Christmas Tree Farm, Ozark Valley will have a lights display with a Nativity, Reindeer Train, and an arts and crafts corner.

Date/Times: The opening day for Ozark Valley Christmas Tree Farm is November, 23rd

Mt Moriah Lights in Carthage
It may not compare to Silver Dollar City’s holiday-light extravaganza, but the musical Christmas light display at a small country church between Carthage and Jasper is pretty impressive.

You will enjoy music like Carol of the Bells, Winter Wonderland, and Wizards in Winter.

Rhema Lights in Tulsa
With over 2 million lights this light display is something to experience with the whole family. Carriage rides, and concessions are available on site, as well. This amazing display is free for the public but donations are encouraged
